Hugo Barra, the global VP of Xiaomi and one of the most popular business strategists in the global scenario, took to his Facebook page just of late announcing that he is all set to return to Silicon Valley again. Hugo who joined Xiaomi almost 3.5 years ago and gave constant efforts in building the terrific business zone for the company across the globe starting from scratch, is really commendable. Even Xiaomi stood to be the third largest Smartphone manufacturer in India generating $1 billion revenue the previous year with prime business footsteps at the Asian markets such as Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

When Hugo joined us 3.5 years ago, we started an amazing adventure to turn Xiaomi into a global player. We have come a long way since, and I couldn’t thank him enough for contributing so much to Xiaomi’s journey. As much as we would love to have Hugo stay with us in Beijing for a much longer time, we understand his personal challenges and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. I’m also looking forward to working closely with him in his new role as advisor to Xiaomi.
Xiang Wang, Xiaomi Senior Vice President, will lead our entire global efforts moving forward. We have ambitious expansion plans for 2017 and are confident in Xiang’s leadership to take our global business to even greater heights!

Hugo Barra had joined Xiaomi almost 3.5 years ago leaving Google and joined the venture to build the business growth of the company globally. But unfortunately he has to leave his position owing to health issues which undoubtedly is a great loss to the company. However, the company co-founder has confirmed that the recent Senior Vice President of the company, Xiang Wang will take over the charge from him.
