WhatsApp is including a new security feature that would enable users to shield their accounts from prospective scammers. The function is currently being developed and is referred to as Login Approval, according to a feature tracker.

WhatsApp is currently developing a number of security features. According to sources, WhatsApp is currently developing a login approval tool similar to Instagram. You will receive a notification from WhatsApp requesting you to verify that it is you when you log in to your account from a new device. When we attempt to get into our Instagram or Facebook account from a new computer, we receive notices similar to these. The new feature coming to WhatsApp will make the system more secure.

According to a statement by feature tracker WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned instant messaging service is reportedly rolling out WhatsApp beta version 2.22.17.22. The feature tracker has noted the security feature of Login Approval as a potential future release. It is currently being developed. This is likely to improve the two-step verification feature that the instant messaging platform now offers. Users of WhatsApp can receive notifications using this feature when someone logs in from a different smartphone. Recent speculations claim that WhatsApp intends to allow iOS users to view prior group members.

Wabetainfo in a statement said, “When someone else is trying to log into your WhatsApp account, you will have to accept the login request by approving it. So people will finally be able to deny a login request if someone is trying to log into their account because they wrongly shared their 6-digit code. In addition, this special security alert also reports some other useful details, such as the time and other information about the other phone.”

In a related development, WhatsApp is attempting to give group admins more authority so they can use it wisely and prevent the spread of false information. The organizations have attempted needs to be more attentive and aware of what is happening in the group for this. According to Wabetainfo, admins of WhatsApp groups will soon have the ability to remove messages for every member of the group. Only a few beta testers now have access to the function, but WhatsApp may start rolling it out soon. Beta testers can presently access the feature.
