According to a leaked list of supported operating systems (OS) for Intel processors, the release of Windows 12 could be on the horizon. The leak, posted by user @leaf_hobby, mentioned that Windows 12 will be supported by Intel’s upcoming Meteor Lake desktop processors. The processors are set to debut in the second quarter of 2024, which aligns with the three-year release cycle between major Windows releases that Microsoft is said to be moving back to.

Interestingly, the leak also mentions that Microsoft is shifting to a new “Moments” engineering effort. This means that the company will roll out new features and updates to Windows at key points throughout the year, separate from major OS releases. This could potentially mean up to four new feature updates a year for Windows users.

With the anticipation of a new Windows release, it’s exciting to consider what new features and updates we may see. Will Windows 12 be a complete overhaul of the current OS or will it be more of an incremental update? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: Microsoft is committed to providing frequent updates to improve the Windows experience for users.

As we eagerly await the release of Windows 12, it’s important to note that leaks like these should be taken with a grain of salt. While it’s possible that the leak is accurate, it’s always best to wait for official announcements from Microsoft before getting too excited.
