Motorola launches Droid Turbo in US starting at $199

Motorola has rolled out its new smartphone called the Droid Turbo, is will be available exclusively on US mobile carrier Verizon.The Droid smartphone is being offered in Metallic Black, Metallic Red, and Black Ballistic Nylon color variants. The Motorola  Droid Turbo smartphone by Motorola will be available starting October 30 from Verizon  online and retail stores. It is being offered in a Ballistic Nylon build and metalized Kevlar fibre build variants.

The new Motorola Droid Turbo features a 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display with a pixel density of 565ppi. The screen is guarded by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Droid Turbo features water-repellent nano-coating and Motorola  claims the handset to be water resistant. The Metallic Red and Metallic Black variants of the Droid turbo have got dimensions 143.5×73.3×10.6mm and weighs 169 grams. While, the Black Ballistic Nylon model measures 143.5×73.3×11.2mm and  weighs 176 grams

The smartphone is powered by a fast  2.7 quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor which comes with an Adreno 420 GPU . The smartphone is clubbed with  3GB of RAM. The Motorola Droid Turbo features Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The Motorola Droid Turbo sports a 21-megapixel rear autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. The camera can has capability to record 4K videos at 24fps.The features of the rear camera include burst mode, slow motion video, Panorama, auto HDR, and tap to focus. There is also a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The connectivity features of the Motorola Droid Turbo include 4G LTE with LTE Cat 4, CDMA, EVDO Rev A, GSM/ UMTS/ HSPA+ ,Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, Wi-fi direct and microUSB .

It you are traveler or a too busy person then the Motorola Droid Turbo will be a perfect choice for you as it packs a huge 3900mAh Li-Po battery. Motorola claims that the smartphone can deliver up to 48 hours of mixed usage to the users. The smartphone also has support for Motorola’s Turbo Charger. The turbo charger can provide upto 8 hours of battery life if charged for only 15 minutes. The sensors in the smartphone handset include ambient light, e-compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, Infrared, and proximity sensor. The handset also supports wireless charging.

The Droid Turbo 64 GB variant is priced at $249.99 (roughly Rs. 15,300) with new two year activation or $27 per month on Verizon Edge and will be offered in Black Ballistic Nylon colour only. While, the Motorola Droid Turbo 32 Gb will be available at $199.99 (roughly Rs. 12,250) with new two year activation or $25 per month on Verizon Edge and will be offered in Metallic Red, Metallic Black and Black Ballistic Nylon models.
