Nokia launches G42 5G, company’s first user repairable 5G phone

HMD Global has launched the Nokia G42 5G, the company's first user repairable Smartphone in their G Series. The company focuses on repairability of the phone and hence has partnered with iFixit to bring repair guides and OEM parts. Details inside.

Good news folks! HMD Global has launched the Nokia G42 5G, the company’s first user repairable Smartphone in their G Series. The company focuses on repairability of the phone and hence has partnered with iFixit to bring repair guides and OEM parts which includes battery, display and charging ports for the next five years.

The Nokia G42 is not only the first user-repairable 5G phone of the company, but its a powerful device with some dynamic features like a Snapdragon 480+ processor, 50MP rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. This is a mid-ranged Smartphone and its 6/128GB model costs around €249 (approx Rs 22,400).It is available in Purple and Grey colors and is being sold in the UK and European markets now.

Talking about the other features, the Nokia G42 5G boasts of a 6.56-inch IPS LCD HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and a waterdrop notch for the selfie shooter. The handset includes expandable storage support which can be done via a microSD card slot. It runs on the out of the box Android 13 OS which will receive security updates for two years. Along with the 50 MP primary cam, it includes an 8MP front shooter for selfies and video chats.

In terms of connectivity, the Nokia G42 5G includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Further, the phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
