Android users can now seamlessly save the COVID-19 vaccine and their test certificate on Android device without downloading extra apps. The feature has started launching in the United States and sooner to get enabled for other countries in the near future.
In India people who have completed their double dozes of covid vaccine, the certificate are saved on their Android device. If not then the test report with certificates are scanned and saved in digital files. I’ve personally did the same way, but people outside India can save the data through Google passes API.
Google has started enabling this feature via the Passes API. This feature permits users to save their Covid cards locally and securely. This also includes vaccine certificates and test data. Due to sensitivity issue, Google wants users not to save their vaccine cards in individual Gmail accounts.
It has been noted that although consumers do not need to download the program, government and health care agencies must use the Google Pass API to format and store the digital versions of these cards. Because vaccine passports have become somehow real, having a COVID card with vaccines and data samples stored on user Android will enable quick and easy authentication. For example, the introduction of vaccine passports has already begun in the European Union. Israel, Singapore, Japan and others have already begun or are in various stages of this operation.
How will you save the Covid cards on Android devices
In order to save the Covid Vaccine certificate and test information on Android, one must have Android 5.0 or higher version OS. Upgrade your device and start following the guideline to save data.
- Go to your ” health provider’s ” website and click ‘Save to Phone.’ Available and separate from other supplies.
- You are asked if you want to save the card via Chrome or Google Pay. Select Google Pay.
- Once you do this, your Covid card will be safe in your device.
- To receive it, go to Settings -> Google -> Account Services -> Google Pay.
