Root Samsung Galaxy M30s using Magisk

Root Samsung Galaxy M30s easily by following the guideline given below. This page also includes unlocking the bootloader of Galaxy M30s and rooting by installing Magisk app.

The device runs on Android 11 and today we will root it on that basis. Using Magisk we will root Samsung Galaxy M30s.

Caution

Once the Samsung Galaxy M30s is been rooted can’t return back to its original ROM unless it is been treated with Official stock ROM. So do think a bit more times to root the device and bear the warranty loss. You won’t be able to get official OTA updates on your Smartphone. If not followed the steps properly, the device gets completely dead. Any damage or loss will not be the responsibility of Blogzamana. Pre-Requirements

  • Samsung Galaxy M30s
  • Windows PC
  • You must have a network with 4G connectivity on your PC or laptop what you are using to download files from here
  • Original Samsung USB cable must be used or else the device will not get detected
  • Battery power must be roughly 40% or more to stay away from automatic shutdown
  • Enable the developer option by going to settings>About Phone>Software information> build number for 7 times tapping>enter password done!
  • Enable OEM unlocking by Settings>Developer options> toggle ON the OEM unlocking option>enable
  • Enable the USB Debugging by Settings > Applications > Development and tick the USB Debugging box. Afterwards, untick the USB Debugging box for security grounds
  • Back up all the personal data present on phone through backup apps

How to Unlock the bootloader Galaxy M30s

  1. First, switch off the phone and then connect it PC by holding the Volume Down + Volume Up keys together and release them when the bootloader screen appears.
  2. Then press Volume up and enter to Device unlock mode
  3. Now press the Volume up key again to confirm the bootloader unlocking on Galaxy M30s.

Download Stock Firmware for Samsung Galaxy M30s

  1. To avoid download speed problem download Frija Tool
  2. Then extract the file to desktop and double click on frija.exe file to launch it
  3. Two things needed that is the phone model number and CSC/regional code. Get it done by tapping on settings>About phone. And to go for regional code download Phone info sam app.
  4. Input the required data in the Frija tool and click on the Download button.

Extract Boot Image file from Samsung Galaxy M30s Stock Firmware

  1. Once the download is over for the firmware package then extract it
  2. Open the extracted folder and you see firmware in .tar.md5 format.
  3. Then right-click on AP firmware file and select Open archive.
  4. Well, under the 7-Zip tool window, there are several files. You only need is to drag and drop boot.img.lz4 & Vbmeta.img.lz4 file to the firmware folder.
  5. Then convert .img.lz4 to .img file by opening the lz4 folder and Drag the .lz4 files to the lz4.exe program.
  6. This will convert the file to .img format.
  7. Now connect the Galaxy M30s to PC and copy boot.img file from the lz4 folder to device internal storage. Abscond Vbmeta.img on your PC. We need this file very soon.

Install Magisk App on Samsung Galaxy M30s

  1. Download and install the Magisk app on your device
  2. Then open in the app drawer and tap on the Install button.
  3. Now here, tap on the Select and Patch a File
  4. Go to the Boot Image file and select it
  5. After this tap on Let’s Go and wait until the Magisk patches the boot image that is found in the Downloads folder
  6. Now copy the magisk_patched.img to the desktop and rename it to boot.img.
  7. From the above we have Vbmeta. img file on PC. Drag these two files (boot.img & vbmeta.img) to the downloaded TWRP.tar file.
  8. Now we have TWRP.tar file must contain three files that must not be extracted. Now flash this single .tar file using the Odin flash tool.
  9. Let’s proceed to the next step is to boot the device in download mode by switching of the phone and press holding the Volume Down + Volume Up keys together. Release the fingers when the bootloader screen appears then press the Volume up key.

Flash TWRP on Samsung Galaxy M30s using Odin flash tool

  1. First, you need to extract the Odin zip file to your PC
  2. Open the extracted folder and run Odin3 xxx.exe file then connect your Galaxy device to a PC
  3. You will get to see ID:COM section light turning up to blue. It means the computer is successfully recognizing your phone.
  4. Now click on the AP tab option and select the TWRP.tar file
  5. Go to the Options tab and untick the Auto Reboot option.
  6. Then finally hit the Start to begin the flashing process.
  7. Once it is successful, you should see the PASS message on the Odin screen
  8. Then press the Volume Down + Power keys to leave Download mode.

Well done you have successfully flashed TWRP recovery on your Samsung Galaxy M30s smartphone.

You can now Boot your Samsung Galaxy M30s into TWRP Recovery by pressing and holding the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button until you see the Samsung logo on the screen, release all your fingers. The device will boot into TWRP Recovery Mode.

Root Samsung Galaxy M30s using Magisk

  1. Get ready to flash the Magisk zip file on the Samsung Galaxy M30s.
  2. On the TWRP recovery page, select Wipe>Advanced Wipe>Select Cache and User Data.
  3. Then Go back to TWRP home select Install.
  4. Now find the Multi Disabler.zip file and select it and Swipe to confirm Flash.
  5. Again return to TWRP home select Install.
  6. Tap on Reboot system and you have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy M30s device,

Verify if your rooted Samsung Galaxy M30s passes SafetyNet by pressing the “Check SafetyNet” button in Magisk App.

Unroot Samsung Galaxy M30s

If you want to unroot the device, open the Magisk Control app and then click Uninstall. After a few seconds, a pop-up screen with complete removal of the message. The app will require permission, so you need to enable it to root Galaxy M30. The special button will be disconnected and the phone will restart.
