  1. First download the LineageOS ROM for Xperia Z and then Google Apps in your computer. Make sure you must not extract the files.
  2. Connect and mount the Xperia Z through USB cable.
  3. Copy paste both the files- Android 7.1.1 ROM zip file and Google Apps zip file to the device SD card. These files must not be saved in any sub folder because those will not get detected in recovery mode
  4. Now detach the cable and switch off the android smartphone.
  5. Take the phone in hand and press hold the Volume Up+ home+power button together. These will boot the device in recovery mode. If not then there is an app to set the device in recovery mode.
  6. When you are in clockworkmod recovery select the wipe data/factory reset to delete data with your device power button.
  7. After that perform the wipe cache partition cleaning by selecting the particular with power. Select options through the volume button.
  8. It is recommended to perform the wiping of dalvik cache because it helps to recover from boot loops error.
  9. In the recovery main screen select install zip SD card and select choose zip from sdcard. Choose one after another using the power button.
  10. Confirm the installation and after completing go to +++++Go Back+++++ and select reboot system now if the device do not boot automatically in normal mode. It will take around 5 minutes to start.
