Twitter restarts Profile Verification from Today

After a prolonged wait, finally micro-blogging site Twitter has started the Account verification process. So if you are eagerly waiting for the process to re-begin, then you have a real cause to enjoy. Twitter has started the Blue Tick verification process from 22 January 2021, Friday. The company had stopped the public verification process from on November 16, 2017 due to perception problems.

While postponing the Public verification process Twitter said, “This perception became worse when we opened up verification for public submissions and verified people who we in no way endorse,”. Also the company had informed to review some of the accounts that were verified earlier. Now with the process starting again, the Twitter Account holders can apply for getting verification by choosing a category and sharing some links and other supporting documents in their form to complete the verification process.

Now everyone must be thinking that what would be the eligibility criteria for accounts to qualify the verification process! Twitter says that only active accounts can participate in the verification process and badge will be removed from profiles which are not updating their accounts regularly. In order to get verified, an account must represent or remain associated with a well recognised brand or individual.

People working in government sectors, Brands, Non Profit organisations, News, Internet, Sports, and established companies can apply for the verification badge. Apart, journalists, entertainment personalities, sports personalities, activists, organisers, and other influential individuals also will be eligible to apply.
