Videocon has launched an affordable smartphone called the Infinium Z40 Quad. Videocan says that this is a selfie focused smartphone. The Infinium Z40 Quad has been priced at Rs. 5,490. Videocon Industries Limited is a large diversified Indian company having its headquarters in Mumbai. The group has 17 manufacturing sites in India and plants in Mainland China, Poland, Italy and Mexico. In India, Videocon sells consumer products like colour televisions, washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, microwave ovens and many other home appliances.
The Videocon Infinium Z40 Quad smartphone sports a 4-inch IPS display. It is a dual-SIM smartphone. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. It has 4GB built-in storage and supports microSD for additional storage. The Infinium Z40 runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The smartphone has 3.2MP front-facing camera and 5MP rear camera with BSI sensor, autofocus and LED flash. The smartphone has a 3.2MP front-facing camera
The connectivity features of the the Infinium Z40 Quad include 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The smartphone also comes installed with Gameloft Games like Spiderman & Bubble Bash 3. The smartphone gets preloaded V-Secure application with 90 days free trial which provides mobile security to the users. The Videocon Infinium Z40 Quad has got FM Radio with Recording capability.
Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phone said tha tselfies were becoming the medium of self expression amongst the consumers, and the demand for devices with great camera capabilities were increasing on an exponential level. They were confident that the selfie smartphone would find much acceptance amongst the selfie crazy consumers, and would help them in establishing themselves as a brand of choice of the discerning consumer. Selfie smartphones were becoming quite popular, prompting the likes of Sony, HTC and Nokia to launch smartphones with improved front-facing camera. Well, Videocon’s selfie phone might not be in that league, but definitely was among few low-cost phones with better front-facing camera.
Earlier this month, Videocon Mobiles had announced the new Infinium series that includes eight smartphones, the Videocon A55HD, A55qHD, A52, A53, A54, A48, A42 and A31. The smartphones will be available starting at Rs 6000. Videocon A54 Dual Sim sports a 5.3-inch qHD display and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The smartphone offers 4GB inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It has 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs 2500mAh battery.
