What’s new with iOS 16.5, check for features

Apple has started rolling the iOS 16.5 software update. The update includes fixes for the existing issues in the current OS and some brand new features. Know in details.

Apple’s WWDC event is scheduled to be held in June and just a month before the company has started rolling the iOS 16.5 update for the iPhone users. The new update is meant for iPhone 8 and later devices and is supposed to fix some existing bugs. Besides, Apple is also rolling updates for iPads, Apple Wearables, Macs and Apple TVs.

The iOS 16.5 update will add a new Pride Celebration wallpaper for the Lock Screen which will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and culture. The company also improvises the Apple News section which will provide detailed information to the users. “My sports score and fixture cards in Apple News take you directly to match pages where you can find additional details about specific matches,” said Apple in an official statement. However, the Indian users would not be benefited from this feature as Apple News is not available in India.

Apart from this, the iOS 16.5 fixes the existing bugs in Spotlight, Apple Car Play and Screen Time tool. According to Apple, all features may not be made available in all regions, but existing bugs in the concerned regions will be addressed as per the country rules and regulations.

If you are an Apple handset users and have not received the update yet, you can manually check for the same by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone, iPad and Macs. If available, download it and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
