World’s first Rollable TV by LG to be launched in 2019

TVs play an important role in modern day life. In today’s world TVs are no more limited to the purpose of viewing programs only. Now a day TVs have become multipurpose devices. The TV technology has emerged enough to show our favorite TV programs, weather reports, playing games and even can act as a personal assistant. Few years back curved TVs and wallpaper TVs were in trend. But time has changed and so has changed the technology.

LG which is a South Korean company that has set a new milestone in this technology trend. Foldable and Rollable TV screens were once seemed to be Sci-Fi technology. But LG has made it come true. In CES 2019 (Consumer Electronic Show) held at Las Vegas during 8th to 11th of January, LG showcased its ground breaking Rollable TV technology.  Though it was showcased even last year but was not commercially launched. Now after one year of complete testing and fault proofing, LG is now all set to launch the TV.

Features:

Though it’s a completely new screen technology but no compromise is made with quality of imaging. The large 65” TV has an OLED screen with 4K resolution. This gives a vivid HDR color contrast. The TV is reported to have the wide angle feature. The onboard 2nd generation Alpha 9 processor makes the TV a bit smarter than other competitors.

LG has confirmed that the device is going to support the Alexa voice assistant as well as Goggle assistant. By virtue of this a user can stream media contents directly from the android Smartphone. It’s expected that later on a new software upgrade will be launched to support Apple airplay2. Except all these the rolling base of the TV is packed with 100 Watt Dolby Atmos speaker that gives an amazing audio output.

But the most Interesting feature is its rolling feature. When not required it can be folded inside the base. That’s why it’s being nicknamed as disappearing TV. Not only this, even when needed the screen can be folded up to its three quarters and the remaining one fourth can be used as a music player or weather widget screen.

All these features made the Rollable TV as the centre of attraction of CES 2019. The TV is supposed to bring large marketing scopes for the company. Though the actual price has not been revealed but it can be expected to cost around 8 million $.
