Blackberry passport launched in India at Rs 49,990

BlackBerry had rolled  out the much awaited Passport smartphone .The Blackbetty Passport was priced at $599 (approximately Rs. 36,500) for the unlocked version in the US. The BlackBerry Passport has been priced at Rs. 49,990 and will be available starting October 10.

BlackBerry Passport has been launched in India and is  be available to pre-order  on Amazon India. The Passport is priced at Rs 49,990. Constumers who will pre-order  the Passport at Amazon India will be offered  an Amazon gift card worth Rs. 5,000 and 5000 miles from Jet Airways.  You can also pre-order at BlackBerry stores.

The BlackBerry Passport has got dimensions 128×90.1×9.3mm. The Blackberry smartphones comes with a 4.5-inch 1440×1440 pixel resolution IPS LCD display having pixel density of 453ppi. The screen gets Gorilla glass 3 protection. It also features a stylish hardware qwerty keyboard with capacitive touch sensitivity. This allows users to select auto-complete suggestions, perform gestures and scroll across lists. The BlackBerry Passport is the first phone to get the new BlackBerry 10.3  OS which has the new Blackberry Assistant .

The BlackBerry Passport features a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. The Passport comes loaded with  3GB of RAM and  32GB of inbuilt storage that can be  expandable upto 128 GN via  microSD card . The stylish smartphone  sports a 13-megapixel rear OIS camera with a BSI sensor and it has also got a 2-megapixel front camera onboard . It packs a huge 3450mAh battery that is credited to deliver up to 30 hours of multi task battery life. BlackBerry Passport offers you superior call quality of the Passport. It incorporates a microphone built into the earpiece that detects ambient noise to deliver tone and volume-correct audio to you. Connectivity features of the BB Passport include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Micro-USB + Micro-HDMI via SlimPort, USB OTG, NFC, GPS, DLNA, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, 4G LTE , Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot and 3G. The Passport has got a slot for  Nano-SIM card.

BlackBerry  has also brought the  BlackBerry Blend. BlackBerry Blend will work with systems including Mac OS X 10.7 or higher, Android tablets running Android 4.4 or higher, Windows 7 or higher, iPad tablets running iOS 7.0 or higher. You can pair to these devices via cellular, USB or Wi-Fi connections.  It enables users to utilise their BlackBerry Passport on their PC and tablet, receive IM notifications, read and reply  to emails, They can also  exchange text messages and access documents contacts and media.

Blackberry has also announced that the unlocked BlackBerry Passport will be available via ShopBlackBerry.com for customers in France, Germany, Canada, the UK and the US straightaway after the launch. It will be priced at CAD 699 (approximately Rs. 38,400) in Canada, EUR 649 (approximately Rs. 50,500) in France and Germany, and GBP 529 (approximately Rs. 54,700) in the UK.

BlackBerry also announced it would bring the Passport to more than 30 countries before this year ends. The list includes Singapore, Austria, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, South Africa, Colombia, Australia, Vietnam, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, Venezuela, Philippines, Russia Slovakia, Spain,  Saudi Arabia and the other parts of the Middle East and Romania.
