Blackberry Leap smartphone launched at MWC 2015 at $275

A smartphone targeted at Young  mobile professionals, says Blackberry. BlackBerry has announced on a new full-touchscreen 4G LTE smartphone called the BlackBerry Leap at MWC 2015. The Blackberry leap has been priced at $275 (roughly Rs. 17,000).

The Blackberry Leap sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Touch display with 294ppi pixel density.  The new smartphone has dimensions 144×72.8×9.5mm, and weighs 170 grams. The Blackberry Leap is backed by a non-removable 2800mAh battery which is credited to deliver about 25 hours of battery life.

The Balckberry Leap features dual-microphone for noise cancellation.It runs Blackberry 10 OS. The new smartphone takes care of your privacy, it comes  with support for encryption, plus built-in malware protection and back-up, wipe and restore. Users will also get Blackberry Hub where messages from mails,social media, texts or BBM can be viewed at a single place. Apart from these the handset also features Blackberry Assistant.

The BlackBerry Leap is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8960 SoC. It features 2GB of RAM. It offeres 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. The smartphone has go sensors like accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors.

 Talking on the camera features, the BlackBerry Leap smartphone sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear shooter with LED flash . The rear camera has features like continuous and touch to focus, Video image stabilization, 5x digital zoom, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, 2DOF video stabilization.  Users will also find a 2-megapixel front facing camera for making video calls or clicking selfies.. Connectivity features on the BlackBerry Leap include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, 4G,  Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (LE) and EDR, GPS/ A-GPS, and FM radio.T he phone, targeted at young mobile professionals, will launch in April in the US. Its release in other markets has not yet been detailed.

We had seen that Blackberry had launched its Classic smarphone without any cameras. The blackberry classic is powered by Blacberry 10 OS. The BlackBerry Classic smartphone features a 3.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 720×720 pixels offering a pixel density of 294ppi.  A 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm MSM 8960 processor drives the smartphone. It comes featured with 2 GB of RAM. The Classic offers 16 GB of internal storage which can be expandable upto 128 GB via Micro SD cardThe smartphones also features an optical trackpad and classic navigation keys. The smartphones has dimensions 131mmx72.4mmx10.2mm and weighs 178 grams. The connectivity features of the smartphone include Micro USB, LTE,FM radio, GPS, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth.
