LG Fxo Firefox powered transparent smartphone launched

LG, Mozilla and KDDI have launched Japan’s first Firefox OS smartphone, the Fx0, which will go on sale from today. The smartphone has been priced at JPY 50,000 (approximately Rs. 26,300).

The Firefox OS-based LG Fx0 features a 4.7-inch IPS display . The LG Fx0 smartphone measures 139x70x10.5mm and weighs 148 grams.  Tokujin Yoshioka, a noted artist and designer has designed The LG Fx0 smartphone running Firefox OS 2.0 . The smartphone has completely transparent front, side and back panels t and the home button of the smartphone has a golden Firefox logo.

The LG Fx0 smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz . The smartphone comes with 1.5GB of RAM. The handset offers 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 64GB via microSDXC card . The device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera onboard for clicking selfies. The LG Fxo smartphone packs a 2370mAh battery inside. The  connectivity features of the handset includes 4G LTE, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro USB,FM Radio and NFC support.

The handset is being Offered exclusively by KDDI and its limited sale will begin on December 25 . The bigger release in Japan will start from  January 6 next year. There are no details for the transparent smartphone’s  global availability.

The LG G Watch R went on sale last month via Google Play store. The watch features a circular 1.3-inch Plastic OLED or P-OLED display . The display comes with a 360×360 pixel resolution . The G Watch R smartwatch sports a stainless steel frame, and is supported by a 22mm calf skin leather strap. The G Watch R will be available only in Black colour variant. The Android Wear, the G Watch R is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. The smartwatch features 4GB of inbuilt storage .

The smartwatch  is backed by a 410mAh battery.  The smartwatch also includes a lot of LG health and fitness apps along with the ability to track users’ heartbeats with  the help of embedded photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor. The watch also features sensors including gyroscope, accelerometer, compass and a barometer. The smartwatch is  IP67-certified and is claimed by LG to last for 30 minutes in 1 metre of water. The LG G Watch R features voice recognition notifications that can provide information related to events, missed calls, upcoming meetings, and local weather forecasts.
