After seven weeks of beat testing, the iOS 12.3 is finally here and this is the third major update that focuses on bug fixing and performance enhancement. The iOS 12 has moved through several updates making it all the way superior and smart. This update also has scope of AirPlay 2 support for AirPlay 2-enabled smart TV that can be screen mirrored from iPhone to Samsung branded Smart TV. This update also includes many other major updates. Let’s take a look.
Use Apple TV to sign up for a Service
After the unveiling event in last March, the new Apple TV app is finally available to the public. The app now is not only awesome by look, but its better and smarter. The latest App includes a new feature called Channels that allows you to subscribe to a service from within the TV app only. So to subscribe a service you don’t need visit a third-party website.

According to Apple, the new Apple TV app supports popular channel services like Cinemax, HBO, Starz, ShowTime, CBS Access etc and many are yet to be added. Best part of the app is that now you can download HBO content for offline viewing on iPhone or iPad. This facility is not in HBO Go or HBO Now.
Revamped Apple TV App
The Apple TV app is now revamped and hence gets a new UI with floating capsules. Now the app is much user-friendly as Apple has removed the sidebar. The newly added Watch Now section now allows you to watch everything you are interested in.
Siri is now all the way faster and smarter. Just command Siri, show me what’s up next and you will be taken to a new portal where all recently watched movies and shows would be included. From here click on any thumbnail and you can see a card with all the details. You can switch right or left by simply swiping the cards. Right from the cards, you can watch the trailers even.

This feature of Apple TV app is very equivalent to that of Netflix and its release has paved the way for an upcoming video streaming service Apple TV Plus. Apple is trying to aggregate more 4K content to its service and hence is in talks with content providers.
Apple Pay Support
Apple Pay is a smart mobile payment service which allows you to pay at online stores and supported retails stores using your iPhone, iPad and Apple watch. The Apple Pay app is now used across in millions of financial institutions globally.
With the new iOS update 12.3, the horizon of Apple Pay has now expanded to Apple Store, iTunes, Books, Apple Music and more. This makes your transaction easier without the help of a credit or debit card.
If you want to use Apple Pay in Apple’s own services, then you need to add Apple Pay as your primary payment method. To do this, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store and next select your Apple ID email > View Apple ID > Manage Payments > Add Payment Method.
AirPlay 2 Support for third-party TVs
These days, Apple TV is expanding AirPlay 2 to more Smart TVs. Apple has confirmed that AirPlay 2 will soon be available for Samsung Smart TVs which means you can share videos, pictures, and music from your iPhone to a smart TV. The LG and Sony Smart TVs would receive the same support later this year.

But a non-Apple device is not capable to bring you the same experience as it goes through certain restrictions. Apple has confirmed that its working on a new TV app for non-Apple devices. But look and feel of the app is yet to be revealed.
‘For You’ Suggestion now Improved
Apple music with more than 56 million subscribers is one of the major streaming services this date. But the major problem you must be facing with Apple Music is the “For You” tab that gets updated once a day. But now with the new iOS 12.3, this service is enhanced and this tab gets updated multiple times a day. This keeps you updated with the most recent happenings in the music industry.
On a note, iOS 12.3 brings a lot many updated features and bug fixes that shouts immediate know-how of the features. It’s worth mentioning that iOS 12.3 is the last major iOS 12 update as iOS 13 is following.
