Users could download the deleted photos, videos, GIFs, documents and audios within thirty days. But for some days WhatsApp had closed this feature. But thankfully, the company has resumed the feature recently. The company has even started storing data in its server to provide this facility to users.
This new feature of WhatsApp is available with the update version 2.18.113(Android 4.0.3+). So to get this facility on your WhatsApp, you need to update the app. For that you need to visit the PlayStore and see if this update is available in your region. This update still has not reached all users as it’s being rolled in installments. So if you have not received it yet, then wait for the notification to come, else you can visit the PlayStore manually to get the update.
To know which version of the update now you are using, you have to the Settings of your app and then click on Help. From there click on App Info and it will show you which version of WhatsApp now you are using. Next you can search WhatsApp Chat from Google Play and check the update.

To re-download the deleted photos, videos or any other file, then visit the chat from which you want to download the deleted files. Click on the user and just below the name of the user you can see the option ‘Media.’ There you can see the deleted files. Now you can click on the file that you want to download. But remember, you can only download files which were deleted within two months.
