The company has officially revealed that there are chances that the said model might catch fire at any point of time. But only some units and not all.

According to official sources, the problem exists with Macbook Pro models manufactured between September 2015 and February 2017. So the company has decided to take back the models manufactured in this tenure. The company has also mentioned the serial numbers of the affected laptops in the official website from where you can check yours. We must mention here that the battery heating issue persists in the Macbook Pro 13 inch and 15 inch laptops.

The company has asked its customers to check their Macbooks with the given serial numbers and it it matches to their laptop, then they must inform the company about this. In such circumstances, the company would change the battery free of cost. Here we must tell you that before Apple had changed the battery of iPhone in just $29 and also had apologized about the slowness of iPhone.

So if you take your Mac to the Apple Service Center to replace its battery, then it might take 1-2 weeks of time. The company has officially revealed this. Also the company has kept a condition for this. According to company, because of replacing the battery warranty of the laptop would not be extended. Before in the year 2016, Apple had replaced the battery of 13 inch Macbook Pro, but at that time there was no safety issue.
