Panasonic Eluga U2 launched in Taiwan at TWD 7,990

Panasonic rolled out the successor of the Eluga U, the Eluga U2, in Taiwan. The handset has been priced at TWD 7,990 (approximately Rs. 15,700). Currently, we have no reports about the global launch. The smartphone can be purchased from Yahoo online store in Taiwan.

Upfront, the Panasonic Eluga U2 features a 5-inch full-HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display . The handset has dimensions 141.5x71x7.95mm, weighs 131 grams. It is powered by a 1.2 Ghz 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.  The phone comes with super fast  2GB of RAM. The smartphone offeres Inbuilt storage of 8 GB, which is further expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s Fit Home UI out-of-the-box.

The Panasonic Eluga U2 is a single-SIM device. Connectivity features on the Eluga U2 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/ A-GPS. The handset is backed by a 2500mAh battery.The Panasonic Eluga U2 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash for clicking high quality pictures. There is also a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

Last year, Panasonic had launched the Eluga U smartphone in India, priced at a price of Rs. 18,990. The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) Panasonic Eluga U features a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) IPS OGS display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It offers 16GB of built-in storage which can be expandable upto 32GB via microSD card. It sports a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery. Now, this handset can be bought at a price of around Rs 11,000 via Amazon. If we compare Eluga U and U2 we see that they are almost identical. The Eluga U2 has a bigger 5MP front camera, has 4G and runs the latest Android lollipop OS.

Panasonic has launched a new tablet under its Toughpad series in India, called Toughpad FZ-B2. The tablet has been priced at Rs. 75,000. The tablet features 32GB of inbuilt storage. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Panasonic FZ-B2 tablet features a 7-inch WXGA (800×1200 pixels) IPS LCD display and a fanless design. The tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The tablet is powered by a 64-bit Intel Celeron N2930 (4 cores, 4 threads, 2MB cache, 1.83GHz base clock, up to 2.16GHz with burst) along with Intel HD Graphics (313MHz base frequency, up to 854MHz with burst). It features 2GB of RAM. The connectivity options of the Panasonic FZ-B2 include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and 4G LTE mobile broadband with satellite GPS. It is powered up by a 3220mAh battery which is credited to deliver 8 hours of battery life.
