Root, Unlock Bootloader and Unroot Samsung Galaxy M51 with Magisk app

Rooting is an illegal activity but user can opt for it because it permits user to go against company and do necessary alter consequently. Here we are going to explain the rooting procedure for Samsung Galaxy M51by creating a patch boot image using magisk app and flashing the patched boot image using Odin flash tool so that it roots the device.

Samsung M series Smartphone is in the market and today we have picked Galaxy M51for rooting purpose. Galaxy M51 is a 6.7 inch Smartphone with 730 G octa core processor. Caution

Once the Samsung Galaxy M51is been rooted can’t return back to its original ROM unless until it is been treated with Official stock ROM. So do think a bit more times to root the device and bear the warranty loss. You won’t be able to get official OTA updates on your Smartphone. Pre-Requirements

  • Samsung Galaxy M51
  • Windows PC
  • You must have network with 4G connectivity on your PC or laptop what you are using to download files from here
  • Original USB cable must be used or else the device will not get detected
  • Battery power must be roughly 40% or more to stay away from automatic shut down
  • Enable the USB Debugging by Settings > Applications > Development and tick the USB Debugging box. Afterwards untick the USB Debugging box for security grounds
  • Back up all the personal data present in phone through backup apps
  • Install a custom recovery like TWRP to flash files
  • Unlock the bootloader of your phone
  • Download SM-M515Ffirmware
  • Download Magisk app
  • Download Odin Flash tool

How to Unlock the bootloader Samsung Galaxy M51without using PC

  1. Go to Samsung Smartphone Settings
  2. There tap on About phone in your Devices
  3. Now go to Software information, there Tap 7 times on the Build number (the information is shown how many times left to tap)
  4. You go back to the main setting page again and there Find the Developer Option in the settings
  5. Now open the Developer Option.
  6. Then turn on the toggle button OEM Unlock. And that’s it.

Root Samsung Galaxy M51Using Magisk

Step 1

  1. Creating a patch boot image using magisk app
  2. First download the firmware from above given link and then extract it with any extraction app.
  3. Then copy the AP file and transfer to internal memory.
  4. Download and install the Magisk app and open it.
  5. Now tap on install-> select and patch a file and then select the AP file that you have transferred earlier.
  6. The patching procedure will get initiated and get saved the same in magisk_patched.tar file.
  7. Once the boot image is patched, copy the tar file to your computer.

Step 2

  1. Flashing the patched boot image using Odin
  2. First download the Odin flashing tool from above and save it in your computer and extract the same using WinRAR
  3. Then open the developer mode in your phone and enable the USB debugging and OEM unlock option. All these should be done before connecting the device to computer.
  4. Then boot the device into download mode by pressing the Volume up+ volume down button and then connect the device.
  5. After that open the Odin tool and tap on the AP button and select the magisk_patched.tar file.
  6. Uncheck the Auto Reboot option and tap on start button.
  7. After few minutes a PASS message will appear on screen that means the mission is successful.
  8. Disconnect the device from computer and press the volume up+ power button to see the bootloader warning screen and then release the button.

Check the device is rooted or not

  • First of all download Root Checker App from Google Play Store.
  • Then Open the App → Click Verify Root

Now, here you will see the message “Congratulations! Root Access is properly installed on this device” if your device has been successfully rooted.

Unrooting Samsung Galaxy M51

If you want to unroot the device then open the Magisk manager app then click on the Uninstall. After few seconds a pop up screen with complete uninstall message appears. The app will ask the permission so you need to grant it to unroot Galaxy M51. Automatically the unrooting package will get downloaded and the phone reboot.
